Garrett was born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. He graduated cum laude from Oklahoma State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Following his graduation, Garrett attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he graduated in 2019. During his time in law school, Garrett was a member of the Dean’s Leadership Fellows, served as a class mentor for the Early Admission Program for incoming students, and participated in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition in Dallas. Garrett worked as an intern at Sweet Law beginning in May of 2018 and joined the firm as an attorney upon graduation.
Since becoming an attorney, Garrett’s practice has been focused on insurance defense, from representing clients in personal injury automobile negligence claims to representing healthcare professionals and entities in medical malpractice claims. Garrett also has extensive experience in employment law, assisting clients throughout Oklahoma after disciplinary action had been taken against his clients. During the COVID-19 outbreak, Garrett assisted Sweet Law in drafting legislation that protected medical providers who were treating patients as part of Oklahoma’s response to the outbreak from liability. Garrett also reviewed local medical facilities’ COVID-19 response plans and provided feedback to assist the facilities’ preparations for COVID-19.
Garrett and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Oklahoma City with their two dogs, T-Bone and Yeti.
