Curt grew up in Tulsa, OK and has spent his entire time in private practice representing doctors, hospitals, nurses and other healthcare providers.
Curt’s first years as a lawyer were spent in the United States Marine Corps. Trying cases across the globe and in combat theaters has given Curt a completely unique perspective. Curt’s extensive trial experience has culminated in his being Lead Counsel at trial for numerous medical care providers in all types of healthcare related litigation, including catastrophic injury cases such as brain injury cases, perinatal safety and cases involving the greatest risk to the healthcare industry.
Curt attended the University of Oklahoma and achieved a Bachelor of Science in History. Curt attended Law School at the University of Oklahoma. While in law school, Curt interned at law firms whose focus was on defending healthcare providers. On summer break in 2000, he attended Officer’s Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia and accepted a commission with the U.S. Marines as a Second Lieutenant. While in the Marines, Curt attended The Basic School in Quantico and Naval Justice School at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. While on active duty, Curt both defended and prosecuted violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in numerous Courts Martial. Curt also proudly served in the Battle of Fallujah in the fall of 2004 earning a Navy Commendation Medal and a Combat Action Ribbon. Curt’s Iraq deployment had him on the frontlines making Rules of Engagement and Targeting decisions in real time combat. While in Iraq Curt was promoted to Captain and served across the Al-Anbar province including Fallujah, Haditha and Al-Asad Air Base.
Curt has taken a lead role in the firm’s commitment to improving quality of care by presenting lectures to medical schools, clinics and health care institutions. He has taught seminars on improving charting, pitfalls with electronic medical records, deposition skills and informed consent amongst other topics. Curt prides himself on attention to details, which make all the difference in defending medical care providers. Working with these people is his passion and defending the judgments made in the context of medical care gives Curt the same satisfaction as having served our Country. Curt spends his free time enjoying the outdoors with his family in Oklahoma City, OK.
